Take part with us in working for a better future, even with little steps we can make a change.

When buying one of our products you will be planting 2 mangrove trees in partnership with Eden Reforestation Projects.

And why is it so critical to plant mangrove trees?

Coastal protection: Mangroves act as a natural barrier against storms, hurricanes, and tsunamis. Their dense root systems and intricate network of above-ground prop roots help dissipate the force of waves and reduce erosion along coastlines. Mangroves can significantly reduce the impact of coastal flooding and protect nearby communities, infrastructure, and agricultural lands.

Biodiversity and habitat: Mangrove forests provide a unique and highly productive ecosystem that supports a wide variety of plant and animal species. They serve as vital nursery grounds and habitats for numerous fish, crustaceans, and other marine organisms. Many migratory birds also rely on mangroves for nesting and feeding. By planting mangroves, we can help preserve and restore these valuable habitats and support biodiversity conservation.

Carbon sequestration: Mangrove trees are highly efficient in storing carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere, also known as carbon sequestration. They have the ability to capture and store significant amounts of CO2 in their biomass and in the sediment below. This helps mitigate climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and offsetting carbon emissions from human activities.

Water filtration: Mangroves act as natural filters, trapping sediments, pollutants, and excess nutrients from the water before they reach coastal ecosystems such as coral reefs and seagrass beds. This helps maintain water quality, prevent water pollution, and protect delicate marine ecosystems.

Economic benefits: Mangroves provide various economic benefits to local communities. They support fisheries, providing livelihoods for many coastal communities around the world. Mangrove forests also serve as tourist attractions, attracting visitors interested in nature-based tourism and contributing to the local economy.

Shoreline stabilization: The extensive root systems of mangroves help stabilize shorelines by trapping sediments and reducing erosion. This is particularly important in areas where coastal erosion is a significant issue, as mangroves can help maintain the integrity of coastlines and prevent land loss.
